college thrifts (1).png

"college thrifts" is my social entrepreneurial venture which I founded in 2019. The "college thrifts" goal is to create more inclusive and sustainable institutions of higher education, support economic development amongst college students, and create mentorship opportunities. It directly addressing 4 UN SDGs which include Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 13: Climate Action, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Overall, the goal is to provide a platform for students to feel part of their college communities. We understand it is our responsibility to spark sustainable consumption behavior and do our share to make the world a better place.

Throughout this process, I have been able to lead projects from an idea phase to a final product which indicated my leadership potential. As the sole individual working on this venture so far, I have developed the idea from the bottom up myself (which includes establishing a prototype, conducting market research, designing a website, generating revenue, etc). With a more technical background than a business background, I was initially concerned that this idea would remain just that if I did not seek opportunities outside the classroom to acquire the necessary experience.

Therefore, I have been committed to doing just that. To date, I've completed various accelerator programs, raised over $25,000 from various pitch competitions, and been featured in various media publications (including NASDAQ), and overall grown my business exponentially during the unprecedented COVID-19 times.
